I think my inability to start this damn thing nutshells me perfectly. Alright this is going to be a series where I write in a stream of consciousness sort of way. What I mean by that is that I won’t have a set topic for these. I’ll just write what comes to mind and then click post. no editing or anything.
So I’ve already started this thing off very crappily so I’ll just jump in. I’ve noticed that If I eat before I go to bed, I’ll have the weirdest dreams. Like once I dreamt that I was a vampire that was also a witch, that had to be saved from my own family trying to kill me by my favorite band Palaye Royale and that the lead singer and I got together and had little vampire children. Weird as hell, I told you.
The most recent one was that I went on a date with my highschool and still fresh crush that went really well until we went to a toy store and my mom and brother were there. My brother just turned 18 but he was like 6 in the dream and I couldn’t hear anything but Bucky and I talking to each other and it was the weirdest and coolest thing.
On the subject of dreams, I don’t really dream all that often. When I do, it’s weird shit like those two. I can’t control my brain anymore than the man in the moon so I just roll with the punches. Take what I can, when I can get it.
I’m listening to Black Veil Brides while I’m writing this and I never really thought that I would like that kind of music but here we are. Like in highschool I listened to like Hannah Montana and the like, but now I listen to a bunch of heavy stuff like BVB, Palaye Royale, Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance, etc. I never pictured myself as the type to wear all black and listen to this stuff but that’s what happened after I graduated.
Music is a powerful thing and I cherish it every chance I get because it helped me through a lot in my life. Though I became addicted to the escape it provided to me so I had to limit how long I could listen to it. The concerts I’ve been to will always stick with me for as long as I live.
I’ve recently started playing video games more and I’ve been enjoying myself quite a lot. My favorite games are Minecraft, Borderlands Series, Portal Series, Terraria, etc. I don’t really like FPS games but I’ll play them from time to time. I absolutely love the older consoles like the Super Nintendo and Game Cube and Playstations 1 and 2, that kind of stuff so I buy games and stuff for them when ever I can and I get super excited when I’m able to get them.
Same goes for movies, I love movies from the 70s and 80s, there are some from the 90s but it’s more from the other two. My all time favorite move is Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. It’s for personal reasons for the most part but it’s also for the amount of work that Hoffman put into the prep for his role as Charlie’s autistic brother Raymond. He spent just over two years in care centers spending time with people on varying levels of the spectrum to get used to the mannerisms and tics that they have and can have. I love a good comedy as well like Tommy Boy with Chris Farley, and Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler.
I love singing and try and do it as often as possible but I live in a smaller house so I can’t always sing out loud. Most of the time I find myself lip syncing as I listen when I’m in the car or working at my desk in the living room.
